Screenwriter Graham Moore says “(Benedict Cumberbatch) really does bring a level of depth and immersion to the character. The first time I saw him in rehearsals, I gasped; it was better than I could have possibly imagined. I feel very lucky to have an actor of that calibre - of all of them - saying my words. I come off very well on their lips.”

Producer Teddy Schwarzman adds “Honestly we couldn’t imagine anyone else doing it.”

Sir John Dermot Turing, Alan Turing’s nephew and a Bletchley Park Trustee, says “The way that Benedict portrays Alan is bound to become the definitive portrayal. It’s perfect casting - I couldn’t imagine anybody better.”

James Turing, Dermot’s son , who is studying civil engineering at university, was recruited as a supporting actor in the bar scenes filmed at Bletchley Park. He adds “The amount of knowledge Benedict has about Alan is amazing. The level of detail he’d gone to - speaking to professors and trying to understand the psychological aspects behind things - was just incredible.”

The Imitation Game, The Exhibition will open at Bletchley Park on Monday 10 November.

Amazing praise!

Indeed!   “I come off very well on their lips.”  My new favorite quote.
